Open the Apple menu in the top left corner and choose About This Mac. If it says Apple M1, M2, M3 or M4, take the Apple Silicon build. If it says Intel, take the Intel one. Almost every Mac sold after 2020 is M-series.
The features are identical either way. Apple Silicon simply runs natively, so it is faster and easier on the battery.
1. Double-click SentiaRead.dmg in your Downloads folder.
2. Drag the SentiaRead icon onto the Applications folder and wait for the copy to finish.
3. Open it from Launchpad. EPUB and PDF are both supported, so drag a book into the window, or start with the curated books included in the app.
Book files: EPUB, PDF, TXT and Markdown. Kindle formats (MOBI, AZW3) and Word documents are not supported, and neither are DRM-protected EPUBs or PDFs that are password-locked or pure scans.
Files: use Import in the library, or drag an EPUB, TXT or PDF onto the window.
Text: copy anything, choose Import from clipboard in the library, and paste; it is saved as a clipping. Pasting a link only saves the link as text; it does not fetch the page.
Web articles: install the Chrome extension and save them from the article itself.
That is Gatekeeper, the macOS check applied to apps distributed outside the App Store. It takes about 30 seconds to clear.
The quickest way: right-click SentiaRead in Applications, choose Open, then click Open again in the dialog. Double-clicking works normally from then on.
Alternatively, open System Settings › Privacy & Security, find the blocked SentiaRead entry and click Open Anyway.

No. One account works everywhere, and Plus follows the account rather than the device: buy it on your phone and it is already active when you sign in on your Mac, and the same the other way round. There is no limit on how many devices you use.
Once you are signed in, your books, imported documents and saved webpages, reading progress, vocabulary, highlights and notes all sync, so you can pick up where you stopped. What travels through the cloud is the readable content (text, images, cover), not a backup of your original EPUB or PDF, which stays on the device you imported it on.
