Frequently Asked Questions

Either channel installs the same build. With Google Play: search for SentiaRead in the Play Store and install it; updates then arrive automatically. Without Google services: open this page in the reader browser and download the APK, then allow installing apps from unknown sources when prompted. You can also download it on a computer and copy it over by USB or wireless transfer. On first launch the app detects the E-Ink hardware and turns on E-Ink mode itself.
Installed from Play: updates arrive on their own, nothing to do. Installed from the APK: SentiaRead tells you at launch when a newer version exists. Tap Update to open the download in your reader browser and install the new APK over the old one, or come back to this page for the current APK whenever you like. Your library, reading progress and saved words all stay where they are.
Book files: EPUB, PDF, TXT and Markdown. Kindle formats (MOBI, AZW3) and Word documents are not supported, and neither are DRM-protected EPUBs or PDFs that are password-locked or pure scans. Files: use Import in the library, or open a file from your file manager and choose SentiaRead. Web articles: paste the link into the import field, or use Share in your browser and pick SentiaRead. The article is extracted on the device. Pages behind a login or paywall usually cannot be read this way. Anything imported on your computer shows up here as soon as you sign in with the same account.
Usually not. E-Ink mode removes all animations and scrolling, so normal or HD refresh is clear and sharp.
Yes, the same app. Google Play and the APK install the same build, and both support E-Ink. Once it detects an E-Ink screen it turns on E-Ink mode automatically, and one account syncs across every platform.
No. Kindle is a closed system that does not run Android apps. For reading with SentiaRead, we recommend open Android devices like Onyx Boox.
No. One account works everywhere, and Plus follows the account rather than the device: buy it on your phone or computer and it is already active when you sign in on your reader, and the same the other way round. There is no limit on how many devices you use. Once you are signed in, your books, imported documents and saved webpages, reading progress, vocabulary, highlights and notes all sync, so you can pick up where you stopped. What travels through the cloud is the readable content (text, images, cover), not a backup of your original EPUB or PDF, which stays on the device you imported it on.
